Everyone is Different (2012) by Sia Hermanides (Nederland)

Everyone is Different

Everyone is Different is a touching video from a Dutch website for LGBT youth, www.iedereenisanders.nl. The website helps young people find ways to talk to their parents, friends and family as well as provides some great LGBT resources, especially on finding help. It also connects LGBT youth with others like them.
This video shows some of the more painful moments of alienation that LGBT teens experience while growing up. Everyone is different. That’s difficult, easy, accustomed, awkward, cool, logical, strange, amazing, wonderful, painful, fine, crazy, great, cool, stupid, especially, pleasant, unpleasant, delicious, ridiculous, funny , lousy, awesome, intricate: just the way we are.

El mueble de las fotos/The piece of furniture (2008 ) by Giovanni Maccelli (Spain)

Plot: The piece of furniture in the living room is my family’s shop window. But the photos of the son and his husband have a place there? A gay couple came with a plan to gain a spot in the family photographs.
Cast: Fernando Núñez, Juan Beiro
Director: Giovanni Maccelli
Country: Spain
Release year: 2009
Duration: 2,5′
ENG - The Piece of Furniture in the living room serves as one family’s proud and sacred window to their menaje. It is a typical guardian of heteronormative values. Friends are ok, as long as they don’t become gay partners, because then they cease to fit in the frames.

Devin & Glenn: Overturn Prop 8 and Make Homosexuals Marry! (2011) by Saatchi & Saatchi (US)

If you disagree with the homosexual lifestyle, why not overturn Prop 8 and make them get married, like the rest of us?

Justin Long and Mike White star as Devin and Glenn, a married gay couple, in this charming new PSA calling for the repeal of Proposition 8, a controversial constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages in the state of California.
The couple go through the familiar stereotypical stages of married life, settling into bored routines and working through minor frustrations. Gay marriage isn't anything special, so why deny it?
Honestly, I can't imagine this winning over anyone who voted for Prop 8, but preaching to the choir never hurts when it's done this well. (Note: This video has a few NSFW moments.)

Noturno (2008 ) by Thiago Carlan and Martín Deus (Brazil and Argentina)

Like a burning fuse, desire runs through the streets of the sleeping city, and with its flare lightens the eyes of occasional lovers.

Tá/OK (2007) by Felipe Sholl (Brazil)

Two twenty-something boys in a public restroom. They sniff coke, talk about sex, get dirty. But the film takes on another tone as they reveal what it is that they really want.
Two boys in a public restroom. 2008 Teddy Award winner.
Short films don't always get the attention they deserve on some audience review sites, or from audiences in general, but often a short film can do in a matter of minutes something more entertaining and expansive than a feature film of much longer length. I feel that this film is such a work - the feelings, emotions, and desires of both of the characters are portrayed in both covert and overt ways, along with the joy, challenge and, at times, awkwardness of each young man's exploration of sex, sexuality and sexual preference. Simultaneously both frank and direct, and humorous and tender, the situation, action and interaction, plot and climax of the film are all developed in a way that was, for me, extremely entertaining and enjoyable. I look forward to further work from those involved with this film, which was screened in the 2008 Frameline LGBT Film Festival in San Francisco, as part of the "Worldy Affairs" program of short films.

Spring (2011)

Spring (2011) , short gay themed drama

Release Year: 2011
Cast: Jonathan Keane and Chris O'Donnell
Genres: gay themed, drama, short movies

Spring is about a young man seeking to discover his sexual boundaries with a stranger. Rightly or wrongly, Joe decides to venture down an unconventional path where he find moments that repel and excite him profoundly. The film shows how we can let ourselves be used and what we are capable of inflicting on others. The encounter is full of little ritualistic intimacies that will shape this young man's life - and his life will never be the same again.
One of the best shorts I have ever seen!!!
Made with the support of the UK Film Council, this short gay themed film touches some of the more extreme areas of gay eroticism. The encounter of the younger, possibly virgin young man, with a slightly older man is full of little ritualistic intimacies that will shape this young man's life - and his life will never be the same again.

I give this film a 10 out of 10. This film was very well done.

I was totally applauded during the middle part of this short film but after the film was done and over, I was completely won over and fascinated by the whole thing.

You will probably recognize the main room/set that is used in this film.

The actors were very realistic and easy on the eyes as well.

Very clever film, with a great dirty sense of humor which I loved and I highly recommend this film.

Genres: gay themed, drama, short movies
Video language: French

This is a French short gay themed movie.
by Gilles Bindi, starring Julien Baumgartner and Clément Allanic.
French with optional English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese subtitles included.

Very enjoyable short. The lead actor was in film YOU'LL GET OVER IT / À cause d'un garçon.

Jérôme, learning doctor of philosophy, shy and socially inadequate, falls for Brice, a spirited hairdresser who takes life head on, and tries to express what he feels to him...
What a sweet movie.. I caught it on LOGO TV, the gay channel in a program featuring short films. A simple movie, but one that gets to the point: first love, young love.. not always smooth or easy. It is a great little movie in that it focuses on what people do for love.. Everyone should enjoy it. The lead actor was in another great film called YOU'LL GET OVER IT. You would do well to try and catch it. and the characters are not overly feminine, which is nice for a change. Even the hairdresser is good looking but not over the top. Of course a happy ending is great.. A lesson to be learned. One can fall in love with another person if the first does not work out. A good life lesson. ENJOY.

Juste Un Peu De Reconfort (2004)

Release Year: 2004

A short film by Armand Lameloise
2004 | 39 mins | France
lot more besides.
For with high school teen Arnaud casting longing looks in the direction of his best friend Guillaume, as Guil makes out with his girl Vanessa, the object of Arnaud's teenage crush is all but clear. Knowing full well that his heart is but a case of unrequited love, he takes comfort in surreptitiously caressing Guillaume during a sleepover, Summer Blues fashion, all the while masking his true feelings by way of a chaste relationship with local girl Aude. Only with a sexually active Guillaume seeking shelter with Arnaud following his mother's mental breakdown, could his dream fantasy turn into gay reality after all?
Laced with a series of homoerotic moments, this seductive tale of sexual awakening from writer and director Armand Lameloise wonderfully captures the innocence of youth, giving way to teenage angst, let alone the pleasures of adulthood. Only in between all of the smoking and drinking, the clubs and the drugs, if not the music and the sex, lies the heartwarming story of a gay teen coming to terms with his sexuality, by way of the object of his adoration.
True the in love with your best friend scenario is hardly new and here cue such features as Forgive & Forget, Krámpack and Summer Storm to name but three. But such does not detract from the merits of this well played and frankly realistic coming-of-age piece, one aided by the natural charm of its largely teenage cast, even if the ending arrives as no surprise courtesy of a poignant "I love you, as if..." line. But then and with AqME providing the nu metal styled soundtrack, this was never going to be ... well that would be saying. What it is however, is an engaging tale of gay first love, one that thanks to its erotic delivery can be found in its original unabridged form and that of a more U-certificate based outing, being notably devoid of its opening hetero love-making sequence, alongside the later non-explicit, if direct masturbation scene, aka "when the bathroom door closes." Thankfully one of the longest gay snogging sessions seen for a while, remains intact throughout. Need more be said? Only that and like the French short Basket et Maths, check out the freeview, this remains yet another touching take on falling in love, adolescent style.
